From Central Station you are just a free ferry trip away from some of the best views of Amsterdam. Getting Around:Amsterdam offers an extensive public transportation network throughout the city and municipality. In case you will be travelling by means of public transport we highly recommend you download and make use of the 9292 public transportation app. With the app you can plan all your public transport trips in Amsterdam (and the rest of The Netherlands). All major operators and means of transport, such as train, bus, metro, tram, and ferry are included. The app is available in English and will enable you as well to buy e-tickets (for most operators) straight from the travel advice in the 9292 app.○ The ferries Amsterdam Noord is separated from the centre by the IJ river. The most convenient way of crossing is by ferry. The NDSM ferry is approximately 12 minutes by foot from the apartment. The Buiksloterweg ferry is roughly 23 minutes by foot and operates 24/6/365. Most of the ferries depart just outside Amsterdam Centraal Station and they are free of charge. Bikes and scooters are also allowed on the ferry.
